After just under two decades of planning and managing large complex construction projects for two of the most prominent commercial construction companies in the Fairfield County area, Brian D. Hyla, wanted to go back to his roots building homes for families.

Brian’s love for building started at the age of 12 when he labored for his uncle’s building company in upstate New York. Brian continued to work for his uncle as a lead-carpenter/foreman throughout his schooling years. After graduating college, Brian wanted to learn more about how large projects are built and managed. He joined A.P. Construction in Stamford, CT as an Assistant Project Manager. Brian moved up through the ranks quickly and finally left after five years as a Project Executive. Brian then teamed with the A. Pappajohn Company as a Project Executive in charge of the large mixed-use and development projects. While there, he developed and systematized the project estimating department, managed the operations of large projects ranging from $20-50M and headed the preconstruction planning for massive developments some in excess of $500M.

Brian’s true love kept calling and after 11 years with APC, he decided to form APEX Projects. With APEX, Brian incorporated all of the construction management techniques and systems learned while managing large commercial projects with his love building peoples dreams. APEX stands above head and shoulders the competition by this hybrid approach. Brian stays intimately involved with every project from inception to years post construction. His undying passion for building and excellence is evident and is shared by the entire APEX team.
