Women who embark on the entrepreneurial journey usually ask themselves a number of challenging questions

Women who embark on the entrepreneurial journey usually ask themselves a number of challenging questions:

-Am I smart enough?
-Who do I turn to for advice and resources?
-Why do I feel so lonely?
-Will my family support me?
-What if I don’t like to sell?

Kathy McShane will discuss the inspiration for as well as antidotes from her new book, The Survivors Guide for Female Entrepreneurs, which was created to help women answer the questions above and to help them to avoid some of the traps encountered by other female entrepreneurs who have started or expanded a business.

Kathleen M. McShane is the CEO and Founder of Ladies Launch Club. In this role, she has worked with over 1,000 women to help them to launch or expand their business. She conducts Mastermind Accountability and Incubator Workshops, Fresh Entrepreneur Workshops, DIY Public Relations Workshops Branding and Social Media Workshops. These workshops are conducted both in person and remotely. She arranges networking events, usually with celebrity speakers, and offers one-on-one advising.

Prior to creating Ladies Launch Club, she was the Managing Director of Ladies Who Launch Connecticut. Ladies Who Launch has the largest worldwide online and in-person community of female entrepreneurs. It was founded in 2003 and has established a vibrant, growing and trusted community that supports women entrepreneurs with both in person and online tools as they pursue their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Ladies Who Launch is the go-to provider of valuable resources, tools, inspiration, and connections for women who want to start or expand a business. The quality of content, the breadth of resources and the depth of community make Ladies Who Launch an indispensable asset throughout the entrepreneur’s life-cycle from concept to launch and into the first several years of operation.

Prior to investing in Ladies Who Launch, Kathy was the Founder and President of Kendrew Group, Ltd, a multi-million dollar, award-winning marketing services organization.

Kathy’s expertise in creative and innovative marketing strategies and campaigns has extended to clients, including Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, American Red Cross, JP Morgan Chase, AT&T, MasterCard International, Visa USA, First Bank Systems, Viva.com, Advanti.com, Boehringer Ingelheim, Citicorp, HBO, MCI, PRIMESTAR Partners, LLP, Centerbank, Showtime and PNC Bank.

Before founding Kendrew, Kathy was Vice President and General Manager of the Financial Services division of MRCA, a market research company. Prior to that, she was a leader in corporate and business-to-business marketing at MasterCard International, Citicorp Diners Club, and American Express.

Under her leadership, Kendrew received Four Gold Mark Award from the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing. Microsoft CEO Bill Gates presented Kathy with an "Award of Honor” from the National Business and Disability Council. She also received the Outstanding Woman of The Year Award from the Connecticut Chapter of National Association of Women Business Owners and the CBS News Radio “Small Business Award”.

Kathy has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University and has attended Columbia University Executive Management Program. She has a Certification in Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and is an adjunct professor at New York University where she teaches Competitive Intelligence.
Kathy has always been active in the non-profit area and created the non-profit “Exceptional Woman’s Series” to recognize exceptional women.
Kathy is a motivational speaker for women’s organizations and conducts workshops at local high schools and other venues that address young women and their need to be empowered. She is the incoming President of the National Speakers Association of Connecticut and has a Certified Speaking Professional Designation.
