About the Panelists:
Caroline Brown
Caroline Brown, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Giorgio Armani USA, oversees marketing for all divisions of the corporation in the United States. These include Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Armani Collezioni, Armani CASA and Armani Jeans. Immediate areas under her responsibility include all public relations, special events, sponsorships, promotions, marketing sales programs, client communication and advertising in the United States and Canada. In this role, Caroline manages these divisions for all channels of the business including both the retail and wholesale groups. Caroline has been with Giorgio Armani since 1993.
Caroline lives in New York City with her husband William and their two children.
Cara David
As vice president of corporate sales and marketing, Cara David is responsible for strategic corporate buys across all American Express Publishing titles, including Travel + Leisure, Travel + Leisure Golf, Food & Wine, Departures, and SkyGuide, and manages all corporate marketing efforts.
She works closely with counterparts at Time, Inc., on the Luxury Portfolio, a joint corporate sales initiative she helped create for American Express Publishing and Time, Inc., in November 2003 to help marketers reach the growing luxury consumer market. Through this initiative, American Express Publishing and Time, Inc., leverage their category-leading magazines and resources to provide unparalleled marketing programs for advertisers wanting to reach the luxury consumer.
David has been with American Express Publishing Corporation since 1997, when she joined Travel + Leisure as senior account manager. In this position she handled luxury, corporate, financial, liquor, and telecommunications accounts as well as the New England territory. Later, she became the company’s first corporate sales director, spearheading significant incremental sales gains. She was promoted to corporate sales and marketing director, expanding her role to include corporate marketing, promotion and events, in addition to advertising sales. She became vice president of the group in November 2002.
Prior to joining American Express Publishing, David was director of advertising sales of Saveur. From 1994 to 1996, she was publisher of Modern Bride. David began her career at Interior Design, where she held various positions from 1991 to 1994, before becoming publisher.
David received the Time, Inc. Presidents Award in 2003, the company’s highest honor. She graduated cum laude from Marymount Manhattan College and currently lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
Carol Goll
As general manager, brand experience marketing at the company’s Montvale, N.J. headquarters, Carol Goll is responsible for all presence marketing and brand events, internet marketing, relationship marketing, as well as for all sponsorships and partnerships relating to sports, entertainment and fashion.
Goll has been with MBUSA for more than eleven years in various marketing and PR management roles. She was responsible for elevating the brand through many lifestyle, entertainment, fashion and sponsorship opportunities, including founding the partnership between Mercedes-Benz USA and Saks Fifth Avenue. Goll has also led the company’s most recent loyalty and acquisition initiatives, including building an integrated system of programs that result in stronger loyalty back to the brand and a robust lead generation system for the dealers.
She began her career at MBUSA in 1994 as regional communications manager for the New York Region where she was responsible for the marketing communications, PR and advertising efforts in the Tri-State metropolitan New York area. Prior to joining Mercedes-Benz, she worked at Ford Motor Company in the public affairs department handling media relations in several areas including corporate issues, labor relations, international PR and environment and safety.
Goll holds a B.A. degree in journalism and an M.A. degree in marketing both from Michigan State University. She currently lives in New York City.
Zeina Sayegh
Ms. Sayegh has been with Fauchon since 2003 as Vice President of Business Development and most recently as President and Chief Executive Officer of the US subsidiary. She has managed all lines of business for the company, including retail, café, ecommerce, and wholesale, in addition to managing the marketing and finance efforts. She played an integral part in the restructuring of the US business and the launch of the company’s web business.
Prior to Joining Fauchon, Ms. Sayegh was an Investment Professional at GE Equity, the private equity investing arm of GE Capital, with a focus on the consumer and media sector. In this capacity, she participated in every phase of the investment process and advised portfolio companies on a variety of business issues to help them grow with the goal of achieving high returns for GE Equity. Ms. Sayegh has also held positions in Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch and at Booz Allen & Hamilton in Strategy and Management Consulting. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University and holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School.
Margaret Touborg
Meg Touborg is the Executive Vice President, Business Development for Waterworks. In this role, Meg directs activities supporting the brand’s growth, including all sales channels, product development, inventory planning and new business ventures, such as licensing and distribution expansion. She joined Waterworks in 2003 to oversee the brand’s marketing functions.
Meg has built her career across a variety of management positions for luxury brands, combining her business acumen with a love for product design. Prior to Waterworks, Meg was with kate spade llc for four years. As Senior Vice President for Business Development, she was instrumental in implementing kate spade’s relationships with third-party partners, including licenses across a variety of fashion categories and distributorship agreements for Japan and Hong Kong. She devised kate spade’s entry strategy into home furnishings and executed the licensed arrangements. Meg also oversaw the management and product planning for retail stores and developed a roll-out plan for this distribution channel.
Before joining kate spade, Meg worked for Coach in a progressive series of brand management capacities. As Vice President of Business Processes, she documented and automated the activities to bring new product to market. As Vice President of Retail Marketing and Merchandising, she integrated Coach’s overall brand messages into the store environments and product assortment. She also served as Director of Product Management, where she launched new product introductions internationally.
Earlier in her career, Meg worked in merchandising and buying positions for Laura Ashley and for Saks Fifth Avenue.
Meg earned her Bachelors of Arts degree from Harvard College magna cum laude in History and Literature. She has completed Executive Education courses in marketing and strategy at the Kellogg School of Northwestern University. She and her family live in Connecticut.
