The Art of Getting What You Want:
Influencing and Negotiating in Tough Economic Times
Every day we negotiate and seek to exert influence -- with our customers, our vendors, our colleagues, our bosses and our subordinates. Whether selling products or services, discussing fees, seeking resources, managing client expectations, working out the terms of an agreement or recruiting staff, we need to be able to influence others.Effective influencing requires more than just communicating a message; it requires motivating people to want to help you. Lee Miller, Managing Director of NegotiationPlus.com and author of UP Influence Power and the U Perspective—The Art of Getting What You Want, will present to members of The Luxury Marketing Council and will show you how to improve your influencing and negotiating skills and enable you to gain the support necessary to accomplish more for
yourself and your organization. Lee will discuss the following fascinating and critical areas:
- How Does Influencing Differ From Negotiating
- Using U Perspective to Your Advantage-- Understanding What Motivates People
- Using the 3 Cs of Influencing: Convince, Collaborate & Create
- Creating Legitimacy
- Dealing with Difficult People
During this presentation you will learn why and how companies use this method to improve their results and quickly learn the 3 Cs basics so you can immediately begin applying these techniques.
Council members will have the opportunity to ask questions and to learn from real life examples. This hands-on program is designed to show the attendees how to think about influencing differently and how to improve their influencing and negotiating skills.
